We had a fun 4th of July weekend and we hope you all enjoyed yours as well! To wrap up the long weekend before having to open up for business again, I took the family to Wollaston Beach down in Quincy, MA. I make sure to bring my camera with me anywhere I go especially when we take our kids out – you just never know when you will capture the perfect shot.
Both our kids are really hard to photograph. I can’t blame them – they are 1 and 3 years old, they don’t want to sit still and smile for the camera in different poses, that’s just boring! The best children photography I have been able to capture is when they are in their natural element – running, playing, jumping around, or in the middle of telling me a story. Practicing with my own two kids has been really helpful in improving my children photography skills and it doesn’t hurt that I know thing or two about cartoons and what a 3 year old may be interested in nowadays.
While the kids were distracted – Caleb throwing rocks into the water or climbing on the wooden walkway and Mya trying to eat the rocks – I used my Westcott reflector and was able to sneak in some pretty cool shots of them. Here are some of my favorite shots from our Sunday family outing. If you are interested in having some children photography of your kids done, please contact us and we can set something up for you and your kids!
